Cheyenne's first day in
her new home
I'm
the one who adopted Cheyenne. I wanted to share some photos with you.
She is doing great. She has been warming up to us and her new
sister Ashley. She is definitely housebroken and hasn't had any 'accidents' in
the house, so she is not sleeping in the kennel anymore. Instead, she sleeps in
her dog bed at the foot of our bed. We are still keeping her in the kennel
during the day while we are at work. She seems to be fine with it. We haven't
been able to get her to use the dog door yet. I think it'll be a while before we
get to that because she seems to be scared when coming in and going out of the
house. We have to leave the door open and step away for her to decide it's okay.
She's fine if we put her on a leash and take her out, but we want her to learn
to do it on her own. She still remembers how to sit and heel on command. Our
other dog Ashely has been great too. They are getting along so nicely, much
better than we
imagined. They've only had a couple of disagreements over toys, but nothing too
serious. They just seem to be testing the boundaries. Cheyenne seems to
recognize Ashley as the Alpha and hasn't really challenged her, but she doesn't
let Ashley push her around either. Cheyenne always looks to Ashley to figure out
what's going on. I'm sure before long they'll be inseparable. She has the
sweetest disposition and loves to cuddle up with us.
We
couldn't be more happy with her and are so glad that we could give her a good
home. We are so thankful that there are people like you guys in the world to
help rescue dogs like Cheyenne.

Cheyenne Update
Cheyenne is doing great. It's like we've had her forever. Her and Ashley (the big white dog) are best pals. They play all the time. She has also made friends with our neighbor's little Westie. They love playing and rolling in the grass together. Cheyenne loves to cuddle with me on the couch or in the bed, where ever I am she is right behind me. We nicknamed her Little Brownie - to go with Big Whitey. I've taught her to shake and we're starting to work on high-fives. We don't keep her in the kennel anymore, as a matter of fact, we dismantled it. We took the pad that was in it and put in on the living room floor and that is her 'safe pad', as we call it. She loves sleeping, playing, and eating her treats on it. She is very smart and very loving. She is always so happy and wagging her tail. We couldn't have asked for a better dog.
